Campus Internationalization Proposal

Internationalization Improvements Ideas and Methods:

There are mainly two things which needs to be focused one is the internationalization of the campus and another one is increasing the friendliness between the foreign students and local students.

Below are some Internationalization Improvements Ideas and Methods to implement those:

Idea 1:  Introducing some common sports tournament which is common and popular to both local and international students.

Methods to Implement:

As far I remember, I have got my most  childhood friends from the play ground. So, in this case to increase the friendliness  between the local and foreign students some common sports like football or badminton can be introduced. This will attract both kind of students to participate in it and the foreign students will mix up with the local students. As they will play together like a team, a strong bond will form between them. I believe this one is a good idea cause the sports will make the students fit and also they would love to join in sports. As the tournament will be an inter department tournament so students from every department will get a chance to interact with each other.

Idea 2: To minimize the trouble to choose food in the canteen it is better to make another counter for the foreign students.

Methods to Implement:

There is no doubt that Chinese food is tasty and healthy. Students love the foods in the canteen. But sometimes foreign students face difficulty to find appropriate food for them. So,if there is a separate corner in the canteen where the foods will be according  to the choice of the foreign students they will get chance to get some food according to their taste. I know this is difficult to manage food for each and every person but this is very much possible to serve some food items which are liked by the people from all over the world. Hope in that case canteen will do some good business also.

Idea 3: Providing the chance to the foreign students to represent their culture and special days.

Methods to Implement:

I know there is an International Week in the university where international students present their culture. But I think this is not enough to know a major part of their history and culture. An international community can be formed with the participation of the foreign students. This community will organize some cultural program or a seminar in each month or in the days which are special to their country and present this in front of all the students. This will help every student to enrich their knowledge. Moreover, the students will acquire some organizing capability.

Idea 4:  Newsletters can be published.

Methods to Implement:

News letters can be published to focus the foreign students. In this kind of Newsletter participation of both domestic and foreign students will make the goal of internationalization fulfill as they will directly participate in those Newsletters and  the students will be the responsible person to collect the writings, pictures and they will be the editor of this newsletter.

Idea 5: Why don’t we make a Facebook page for our University ?

Methods to Implement:

Nope ,I am not joking. I am serious. People are getting more online or computer based. So, we also should have to think in that way. Universities like Harvard University, Stanford University use this medium to make their discussion and friendliness more live. People in these days   appreciates more if someone put one like to his picture which he has uploaded in Facebook or any other social media.

Last year Harvard University was the first to use Facebook for their online activity. If you check the page you will get 1.6 million likes. So, you can imagine in which level this can reach. Let us do one active page for our university in Facebook.

Question may arise that how this will become so popular and why people will check this at least one time a day. My answer is this can happen. But need some participation of the faculty and staff. Students will be eager to know what his professor is thinking when he is not in class. Description is not that effective ,you just need to imagine the scenario.

There will be many advantage to do so.If one student like the page then his all friends will also get notified about this.

If one foreign student likes the page then his friends which are speeded in all over the world will also get notified and informed abut this page. Which is a great advertisement of the University. Not only in home country also beyond the border.

 Conclusion:

This is very good sign for the university that a lot of foreign students are coming to the university each year. We should hospitalize them very cordially and make them feel that this is their home. The above ideas will only remain ideas if you do not implement this from our heart. In this case this is more important to treat the foreign students from heart.  Cause only our individual approach can make this effort a fruitful one.
